Abstract

´on de referencia.
´on.
Posteriormente, esta relaci´on
diferentes escalas temporales.

The methodology Kc−ETo (known as two steps) is commonly used to estimate
the water requirements of cover, where Kc is the crop coefficient and ETo is the
reference evapotranspiration.
From an operational point of view, the estimation of the crop coefficient Kc
from satellite can be used to monitor crop evapotranspiration and thus to estimate
the crop water requirements. The remote sensing data allow the estimation
of crop water requirements over large areas. Within this framework, the thesis
continues the previous published works that estimates the crop transpiration
from the vegetation indices.
The crop evapotranspiration (evaporation from soil and transpiration from
vegetation), is estimated by using the relationship between the spectral vegetation
indices and the crop coefficient. This emphasis is derived from and
confirmed by the requirements of the users (irrigation advisory services, water
managers, hydrological models, environmental managers,...) who need tools for
operational real-time monitoring evapotranspiration like proposed in this work.
The general objective of the work is to analyze and improve the methodology
to derive the crop coefficient from the canopy spectral response using the
vegetation index (VI) to estimate the crop evapotranspiration.
To achieve this objective, several field experiments using the most representative
crops in the area (corn and wheat) were carried out using a plot in
the area of the 08.29 aquifer (Mancha Oriental). The experiments provide the
relationship between the crop coefficient and the vegetation indices. This relationship
was extended to the extent of the aquifer during the year 2003 to
estimate the average crop coefficient curve and the cover evapotranspiration at
different time scales.
