Resumen

The doctoral thesis explores the importance of self-care in daily life, focusing on academic, professional, and functional diversity contexts. Three key questions guide the research: 1) Do self-care behaviors affect academic engagement in students? 2) Are self-care behaviors linked to workplace well-being? 3) What is the impact of a self-care intervention for workers with intellectual disabilities compared to those without? Three studies investigate these questions, utilizing various methodologies and samples. Findings emphasize the significance of self-care programs in academic settings, the influence of self-care on well-being across different sectors, and the beneficial impact of a tailored intervention for workers with disabilities. The research sheds light on the role of self-care practices like meditation in reducing stress and improving well-being across diverse occupational settings, including academia and various industries, highlighting the importance of addressing functional diversity in labor contexts.
